Student Ministry

Second Street Students are a family of student believers who live to grow together in the love of Jesus Christ!

Second Street Students consists of all 6-12 grade students at Second Street Church. Our students are part of the Second Street Church family, and we invite you and your students to be a part of that family, which is established in Jesus Christ. Our goal is to raise up powerful students who are growing together in God, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, and share God's Word and love with everyone in our community!

We invite you to join us in our weekly student programs and worship!

-Sunday Morning Bible Class @ 9:00am

-Wednesday Night Worship @ 6:30 pm 

"Wednesdays with Friends" (WWF) is a fun, faith-building ministry for 5th-8th grade students! Our goal at WWF is to be a ministry that helps ease the transitions from children's ministry to student ministry in a way that is uplifting, encouraging, and Christ-centered!

WWF is an after-school program designed for intermediate and middle school students. WWF's are held every other Wednesday here at Second Street. Students are picked up from school and brought to Second Street Church to participate in games, group activities, and small service projects. We also have a church van that goes to Bridgeforth Middle School on WWF days to pick up students. 

At each WWF we will also provide dinner for students, which takes place between approximately 5:00-5:45 pm. After dinner, students are given time to "cool down" and hang-out before Wednesday Night Worship at 6:30pm.

STRIVE is a students ministry focused on the Spiritual growth of High School students. STRIVE students grow together, seeking the truth of God's Word and take the light of Jesus out into their church, schools, and community.

"STRIVE Nights," as we call them, are every other Sunday from 5:30-7:30pm at Second Street Church.

The primary goal of this ministry is to help students grow a relationship with Jesus and to plant his love into their hearts. Our hope is that it becomes the mission of a STRIVE student to take what they learn within this ministry and share their faith with everyone in their homes, schools, and community. STRIVE students also work together, striving to be an example of a true church family, as laid out to us by Paul in the book of Ephesians.  

STRIVE Students Strive to: 

- Seek to find their God-made and God-Given potential. Psalm 139:13-16

- Find out who we are in Christ Jesus. John 1:12

- Look to the Word to find our spiritual gifts. Peter 4:10

- Work together to build a family of powerful young believers. Proverbs 27:17

- Walk through the struggles of life together. Galatians 6:2

- Share the love of Jesus with everyone who we come in contact with. Matthew 28:18-20
